Broccoli rabe has slender stalks, large dark green leaves, and small buds that resemble broccoli florets. It has a slightly bitter and nutty taste, similar to mustard or turnip greens. It is rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Broil the broccoli rabe to concentrate its sweetness or sauté it with plenty of minced garlic, a drizzle of olive oil, and a pinch of red pepper flakes for a perfect side dish.
