Organic French Shallots
Out of stock
These Shallots are certified Organic. Shallots are known for their subtle taste, much milder in flavor than most onions. They soften quicker than onions when cooked which makes them ideal for use in sauces. To prepare shallots just simply trim the top and bottom, then peel the outer layer like you would an onion and then separate the bulbs. You can also cook these whole to add to many dishes for taste or decoration, just saute them on a low heat so as not to brown them too quickly.
Franklin Sustainable Farms
Think dry and dark. Light and moisture are shallots' worst enemies, as they both cause mold to grow. Instead, store shallots at room temperature in a dry, dark place that has plenty of air circulation, like in a wire-mesh basket or open paper bag in a cupboard or pantry.
